Sports Medicine
Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine includes preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries related to sports and exercise activities. Often these injuries are sprains and strains of ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Often these injuries can be treated with medications, physical therapy, bracing, and exercise.

Injuries that are more serious, such as torn cartilage, ligaments, or tendons of the knee, shoulder, and hip, for example, require surgical repair. Most of these can be treated using arthroscopic surgical techniques, which often results in less pain, quicker healing and a faster return to normal activities. Arthroscopic surgery can usually be done in an outpatient setting, which is often more convenient for our patients. Our Sports Medicine Specialist uses advanced techniques to achieve the best outcomes for our patients!
